Building Your Network.

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

We’ve been doing a lot of networking lately. For one reason, it’s a super affordable way to market, and in this “still coming back” economy, we’re all pretty conscious of what we’re spending.

But we also like to network because we enjoy meeting new people. It’s one of the reasons we love what we do cause we’re always welcoming new clients and their guests and friends aboard one of our Free Spirit yachts.

During season, we don’t have much time to actively network. We’re busy with yacht charters – working on weddings and parties and corporate meetings. So we have a limited window of time in which to get out and do some face-to-face connecting.

We’ve found that joining organizations is a great way to meet people. So we belong to the
Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau (CCTB) where I’m on the Ambassador Committee, the National Concierge Association (NCA), The Chicago Area Gay & Lesbian Chamber and the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce as well as some smaller networking groups.

Membership in these organizations and groups allows us to build new relationships within the Chicago business community and also market our services to an international audience.

What are you doing to build your network?

We’ve got all kinds of fun planned at Free Spirit Yacht Cruises.

Friday, January 15th, 2010

Much as we miss being out on our yachts on Lake Michigan, winter is the time when Captain Joe and I get time to work on planning fun events for you.

So even in the off-season, we’re working.  We’re holed up (right now in chilly Florida) planning all sorts of fun yacht parties for 2010 — wine and cheese tastings, champagne and chocolate, yoga and massage, even a “Disconnect” Networking party (more on that to come)….to name a few.

We’re also busy booking meetings, events and private parties…. including a bunch on the books for 2011.

Chicago Wedding Cruises

And in the past few weeks, we’re getting more and more calls from future brides. Not too surprising since weddings need to be planned well ahead of time. We’ve seen more than one occasion where a bride ended up moving her wedding date cause one or the other of our yachts was taken.

Meeting and event planners already know how the date crunches work. Brides, not so much. So our best advice to anyone planning a private yacht charter event – book early!  Don’t wait. Lock in the date you want before someone else does.

Whatever you’ve got in mind — a beautiful morning brunch — a sophisticated, intimate cocktail party — a lavish and elegant dinner buffet — rock’n’roll casual party – or a Chicago-themed event. We can do it!

Our yachts are wonderfully inviting…. luxurious and comfortable. Our crews are top-notch – experienced, attentive professionals.  As a family-owned and operated business, we can pretty much promise you a fabulously relaxing and memorable event when you book a Free Spirit Yacht Cruises charter.

Please keep us in mind for all your private parties and company meetings and events. We’re always available and happy to answer any questions at 708-361-2220.

Warm wishes as we cruise into this new year!
