A few interesting Chicago River Factoids:

• The Chicago River System is 156 miles long and flows through downtown Chicago.
• 52 moveable bridges span the river.
• The river flowed directly into Lake Michigan until 1900, when the Chicago Sanitary District reversed the flow, using a series of canal locks. Today the river empties into the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal.
• Garbage filled the river until the 1990s when it underwent an extensive cleaning as part of Mayor Daley’s Chicago beautification program.
• On St. Patrick’s Day, the river is dyed bright green.

We’ve got something extra special and fun for you to enjoy on Lake Michigan. It’s Yacht Yoga. Yes, Angela is leading yoga classes on the deck of the Free Spirit. What a perfect spot to focus on mindfulness and relaxation, right?

Angela has been teaching Yoga/YogaSculpt since April, 2015. She’s earned her 200-hour teaching credentials for Power Yoga at Corepower and 100-hour advanced yoga teaching credentials through Drishti Yoga in Costa Rica.

Being on the water and yoga practice helps you relax, unwind and breathe. In Yacht Yoga, you’ll focus solely on yourself and enjoy a little “me” time. We want to share some of the wonderful benefits of yoga and being on the water with clients and friends.

If you’re one of those people who puts others before yourself too often or simply find you need a little “me” time, this is the class for you. We’ll create your own private Yacht Yoga event or you can sign-up for our open Sunday afternoon Yacht Yoga flow.

Space is limited. Enjoy an hour of yoga and an hour to hang out aboard the Free Spirit. Snacks, beverages and beautiful scenery included. We’ll be dockside at Burnham Harbor.

Vinyasa yoga is a series of poses that flow breath with movement. The practice helps you relax, unwind and breathe. In Yacht Yoga, you’ll focus solely on yourself and your internal conversation – the one you’ve been having with yourself lately. Good or bad.

We’ll begin on time with a short meditation, practice a gentle vinyasa yoga flow for an hour and end with a short meditation. Then we’ll break. Your beverage of choice and snacks will be provided by Free Spirit Yacht Cruises.

The Free Spirit will stay dockside at Burnham Harbor.
